Kitchen Items for our neighbors: family of 8 living in Germantown

Date: February 5, 2022

Welcome to a KindWorks mostly Kitchen signup for an extended family living together in Germantown.  Two moms from El Salvador who are sisters and living together in a two bedroom apartment in Germantown.  Each of the moms has 3 kids:  2 girls (ages 5 and 9) and 4 boys (ages 9, 11, 14, and 15). The kids are super kind and sweet, and love STEM projects and cooking!   The moms are day painters (outside – so if anyone has size 9 warm boots….).

Your generous contributions will help turn an empty kitchen into exactly what these Moms have hoped for their family’s home – a space filled with all that they want and need to be able to cook, and eat and share food, memories and good family times with their 6 children!

Your willingness to jump in and help is truly special and will be so deeply appreciated by this family.

Let make sure that by next weekend this family has what they need to really feel at home in their space!

IMPORTANT: Please deliver only those items for which you have signed up UNLESS  you have been in touch and received confirmation to bring specific additional items. We so appreciate your generosity and your understanding!!

THE PROCESS FOR DELIVERY:  After you signup your items, you will be given the name and contact information for a kind neighbor who is mentoring and tutoring the children, so you can drop off or send your items to her in Bethesda.     We ask that all items be delivered as soon as is convenient, and certainly by next February 5th.

The lead for this effort is Julie.  If you have questions, you can reach Julie by email at juliegarel@me.com or (757) 639-7702.

Many, many thanks!  – – KindWorks Home Setups Team
