We’d love to have you help us bring some delicious and nutritious food and a lovely evening of community support, to the ladies at the Interfaith Works Women’s Center in Rockville!

Three things to please keep in mind before you sign up:

  1. Only signup when you have a very high certainty that those advanced dates will work for you
  2. Write down in your calendar what you signed up to bring, and
  3. Remember that each volunteer attending should signup for their own distinct volunteer spot (so if you and your child are both staying, both should have distinct items that you are signing up to bring).

These best practices ensure that the ladies will have some terrific meals and that each volunteer also has a terrific experience helping out.  Thanks in advance for complying with them!

Join a group of connected Germantown families as they work together to  provide dinner and breakfast the next morning for 35 women.
Please keep in mind that the shelter does not have ovens. They do have a microwave for warming already prepared food along with refrigerators for its storage.

We meet at 6pm, in order to be all set up and ready to serve by 6:30 pm. We encourage volunteers to interact with the residents; have dinner and chat with them if you choose as they feel comfortable. This is a perfect project for youth groups or other young people (with adult supervision) who are interested in providing community service.

The shelter would also appreciate provisions for breakfast for the following morning, and help with a few pantry items (which you can see on our sign-up sheets) if you would like to help out with these items!

Help bring dinner, breakfast for the next morning, and some often needed pantry items, for 35 women.
