December 14 Apartment Setup for two Refugees from Sudan and Afghanistan

KindWorks will prepare an apartment for a Sudanese refugee on December 14. He will arrive through the services of Ethiopian Community Development Council. His apartment will be in Hyattsville, MD.

**UPDATE: This gentleman will now have an Afghan roommate, also an ECDC client arriving next week! Quantities have been updated.**

We invite you to join us as we transform an empty apartment into fully furnished, warm and welcoming home. Come for an hour or two to arrange furniture, organize the bedroom and kitchen, put together the beds, and hang art. Many hands make light work and it’s a lot of fun!**

Thank you for donating good, dignity quality furniture and furnishings. All items should be clean, unstained, and 100% pet-hair-, cobweb- and smoke -free. Please vacuum large furniture items and all rugs prior to donation!

October 18 Apartment setup for an elderly Syrian couple in Hyattsville, MD

KindWorks will prepare an apartment for an elderly Syrian couple. They are moving to the area to be near Syrian friends who can care for them, as they are otherwise alone and the wife is unwell.

KindWorks will prepare an apartment for an Afghan refugee family in Riverdale, MD 20737 on Friday, October 11 at 10am. The two daughters are 18 months and 3 years old, and the son is 5 years old. They are friends of the family that KindWorkers met at our very first setup at the apartment complex in May 2017. The family will receive support services through Ethiopian Community Development Council.

KindWorks will prepare the currently empty home for an Afghan family with a 3 yr old daughter. They are receiving resettlement services through Lutheran Social Services.

KindWorks will prepare two apartments for a large Congolese family. There are EIGHT children ; 5 girls/young women (ages 7, 11, 14, 17, 24) will live with the parents, and the THREE young adult men (20, 23, 30) will have a small apartment nearby. They are arriving through International Rescue Committee.
