We are partnering with Homes Not Borders to deliver furniture and other household items needed for a newly arrived family! Your willingness to jump in and help is truly special and deeply appreciated by this family.

These setups will be a bit different from others, in that we will pick up whatever we don’t have from our volunteers at the Homes Not Borders warehouse that morning.  Therefore, First, Please Signup To Help out from 10-2 on July 3rd.  THEN, see if you have or can collect any of the needed items.  We won’t be coordinating those who want to donate their stuff, with those who intend to help out that day, since there is a backup supply of stuff!   

Please arrive (with any items that you signed up to bring, if any) at the Homes Not Borders warehouse in Landover at 10 am on Monday, July 3rd. Together we will help load, deliver and setup the items for an as yet unidentified family.  As we get info about the family, we will share it, in case that changes what we are asking for in addition to your time on July 3rd.

Donation Guidelines

Furniture must be in very good condition, with no chips, tears, or stains. Other household goods should be new or very gently used. In addition, all donations must be clean and completely free of pet hair, cobwebs, and cigarette smoke. For donated bed linens, package same-size linens together in a bag or box, labeled with the size. Please do NOT mark on the actual bedding. 

Please only bring those items for which you have signed up unless you have been in touch and received confirmation to bring specific additional items. We appreciate your generosity and your understanding!

Safety Reminder

As with all KindWorks projects, when you register you do so with the understanding that volunteering may involve physical activity, the handling of sharp objects and cooking apparatus, the lifting of heavy objects, contact with unidentified and unfamiliar persons, and will require the exercise of reasonable care to avoid injury and/or damage, and agree to assume any and all risks of personal injury or property damage.
