Set Up a Home for Rahmat Family of Four

March 22 @ 8:00 am-April 6 @ 5:00 pm

Help create a home for the Rahmat family who arrived from Afghanistan just last month. They are a household of four (dad, mom, 11 year old daughter, and 4 year old son). Help us make their apartment a home! Your willingness to jump in and help is truly special and deeply appreciated by this family.

We ask that items are dropped off directly with the family as soon as possible by contacting Dad directly by text and arranging to meet him at your convenience. You can also order things to be sent directly to the Dad – you will receive his name, contact info and address upon your signing up for things. (If you do that, please do let him know what you are sending, so he can be on the lookout for the package(s)). We hope that you can participate and take advantage this wonderful opportunity to meet the people we serve and to welcome them to our community!

For more information, contact email Kim, the lead for this project.

Donation Guidelines

Furniture must be in new or very good condition, with no chips, tears, stains or pet hair. Other household goods should be new or very gently used, as well.  In addition, all donations must be clean and completely free of pet hair, cobwebs, and cigarette smoke. For donated bed linens, package same-size linens together in a bag or box that is labeled with the size.

Please only bring those items for which you have signed up unless you have been in touch and received confirmation to bring specific additional items. In apartments that are small, and for families that are not, LESS IS MORE!  We appreciate your generosity and your understanding!

Safety Reminder

As with all KindWorks projects, when you register you do so with the understanding that volunteering may involve physical activity, the handling of sharp objects and cooking apparatus, the lifting of heavy objects, contact with unidentified and unfamiliar persons, and will require the exercise of reasonable care to avoid injury and/or damage, and agree to assume any and all risks of personal injury or property damage.
