Help create a home for a newly resettling Afghan family, a household of 7, mom, dad and 4 boys aged 12. 9, 8, and 3 years old and 1 girl aged 6 years old. Let’s welcome them to our community by turning their empty apartment into a warm and welcoming home! Your willingness to jump in and help is truly special and deeply appreciated by this family.
We ask that items are dropped off directly with the family between 10 am and 8 pm on Sunday, June 18th – help this Dad have a wonderful Father’s Day!! We hope that you can participate and take advantage this is a wonderful opportunity to meet the people we serve and to welcome them to our community! But if you need help coordinating your delivery with others, please do email Deb.
Donation Guidelines
Furniture must be in very good condition, with no chips, tears, or stains. Other household goods should be new or very gently used. In addition, all donations must be clean and completely free of pet hair, cobwebs, and cigarette smoke. For donated bed linens, package same-size linens together in a bag or box that is labeled with the bedding size contained therein.
Please ONLY bring those items for which you have signed up unless you have been in touch and received confirmation to bring specific additional items. The family is large and the apartment is small. Less is More!! We appreciate your generosity and your understanding!

As with all KindWorks projects, when you register you do so with the understanding that volunteering may involve physical activity, the handling of sharp objects and cooking apparatus, the lifting of heavy objects, contact with unidentified and unfamiliar persons, and will require the exercise of reasonable care to avoid injury and/or damage, and agree to assume any and all risks of personal injury or property damage.
