Help create a home for a family consisting of a mom and four boys (ages 16, 12, 5, and 7 months). They are settling into temporary housing in Silver Spring following the Dad having left and the Mom having lost her job during her last pregnancy. Your willingness to jump in and help is truly special and deeply appreciated by this family.

Please deliver donations by 1pm on Sunday, February 5th, or signup to help deliver the donations and help with the setup from 2-4pm that day.  For more information or answers to any of your questions, email Karen, the chair for this home set up. 

Donation Guidelines

Furniture must be in at least very good condition, with no chips, tears, or stains. Other household goods should be new or very gently used. In addition, all donations must be clean and completely free of pet hair, cobwebs, and cigarette smoke. For donated bed linens, package same-size linens together in a bag or box, labeled with the size. Please do NOT mark on the actual bedding. 

Please only bring those items for which you have signed up unless you have been in touch and received confirmation to bring specific additional items. We appreciate your generosity and your understanding!

Safety Reminder

As with all KindWorks projects, when you register you do so with the understanding that volunteering may involve physical activity, the handling of sharp objects and cooking apparatus, the lifting of heavy objects, contact with unidentified and unfamiliar persons, and will require the exercise of reasonable care to avoid injury and/or damage, and agree to assume any and all risks of personal injury or property damage.
