Help ensure our neighbors have access to enough food for their families by serving with the Upcounty Hub, which distributes boxes of donated produce, groceries, hygiene items, and activity kits for kids to those in need in northern Montgomery County. You can volunteer for various roles to assist the organization in its efforts:
- Assemble boxes of food weekdays, generally 10 am-1 pm
- Deliver prepacked boxes to doorsteps of vulnerable residents, generally mid-day on Thursdays
- Host or assist with a donation drive
- Help with special events hosted by the hub throughout the year
Volunteer Requirements
Food assembly volunteers and drivers must be at least 18 years old, able to work independently, and capable of lifting 25 pounds. In addition, food packaging volunteers must provide proof of Covid vaccination. Groups are welcome, especially for food assembly days.
Safety Reminder
As with all KindWorks projects, when you register you do so with the understanding that volunteering may involve physical activity, the handling of sharp objects and cooking apparatus, the lifting of heavy objects, contact with unidentified and unfamiliar persons, and will require the exercise of reasonable care to avoid injury and/or damage, and agree to assume any and all risks of personal injury or property damage.
