Help create a new home for a family from Afghanistan who lost all of their belongings in the fire at The Enclave Apartments on April 23rd.  Mom, dad and their 5 year old daughter will be so very grateful!  Let’s show them the kind of community that we are, by helping to replace what they have lost.  Your willingness to jump in and help is truly special and deeply appreciated by this family.

We ask that items are dropped off directly with the family as soon as possible by contacting Dad directly by text and arranging to meet them at your earliest convenience.  We hope that you can participate and take advantage this wonderful opportunity to meet the people we serve and to welcome them to our community!  You can also order things to be sent directly to them – you will receive Dad’s name, contact info and address upon your signing up for things.  (If you do that, please do let him know what you are sending, so he can be on the lookout for the package(s). 

Donation Guidelines

Furniture must be in very good condition, with no chips, tears, or stains. Other household goods should be new or very gently used. In addition, all donations must be clean and completely free of pet hair, cobwebs, and cigarette smoke. For donated bed linens, package same-size linens together in a bag or box that is labeled with the bedding size contained therein. 

Please ONLY bring those items for which you have signed up unless you have been in touch with Mohammad (the Dad) and received confirmation to bring specific additional items.  The family of 3 will be living in small apt, so Less is More!! We appreciate your generosity and your understanding!

Safety Reminder

As with all KindWorks projects, when you register you do so with the understanding that volunteering may involve physical activity, the handling of sharp objects and cooking apparatus, the lifting of heavy objects, contact with unidentified and unfamiliar persons, and will require the exercise of reasonable care to avoid injury and/or damage, and agree to assume any and all risks of personal injury or property damage.
