Items for our new Afghan neighbors: Aimal and his wife in Alexandria, VA

Welcome to a KindWorks drop off signup for a newly arrived family from Afghanistan!   Your contributions will help turn a relatively empty apt into exactly what Aimal and his wife are asking for – Thank YOU!   Your willingness to jump in and help is truly special and will be so deeply appreciated by this family.

Let make sure that by the weekend this family has what they need to really feel at home in their new space!

IMPORTANT: Please deliver only those items for which you have signed up UNLESS  you have been in touch and received confirmation to bring specific additional items. We so appreciate your generosity and your understanding!!

THE PROCESS FOR DELIVERY:  After you signup your items, you will be given the name and contact information for the family so that you can arrange a mutually convenient time to drop off your items.  We ask that all items be delivered as soon as is convenient, and certainly by Monday, March 21st.   Christine will also be heading out to deliver some things, and is happy to meet up with you and bring your items with her, if you want to arrange that with her.

**as with all KindWorks projects, when you register you do so with the understanding that volunteering may involve physical activity, the handling of sharp objects and cooking apparatus, the lifting of heavy objects, contact with unidentified and unfamiliar persons, and will require the exercise of reasonable care to avoid injury and/or damage, and you agree to assume any and all risks of personal injury or property damage. Notwithstanding the COVID precautions indicated above, as with any indoor group activity, there is a risk that unintended COVID transmission could occur.
